The MERKUR Casino Hohensyburg impresses not only with its striking architecture – the elegant glass structure near the historic castle – but also with its comprehensive range of entertainment and gaming options. Since its opening in 1985, it has been one of the most important casinos in North Rhine-Westphalia and is already celebrating its 40th anniversary.

With a total area of around 15,000 square metres, it is Germany’s largest Casino and offers guests a multi-level experience. At its heart lies the slot machine area “Vegas World”: more than 360 modern slot machines, bingo machines, multi-roulette terminals, and an exciting mystery jackpot system guarantee thrills and variety almost around the clock.

But classic table games are not neglected either: visitors can try their luck at numerous tables featuring American Roulette, Black Jack, and various Poker variants.

The experience is rounded off with a wide entertainment offering: a stylish restaurant, a modern bar, a dance venue, and regular live shows.

Admission & Dress Code

Remember to bring an official ID with you when visiting. Without valid identification (passport/ID card), we cannot grant you access. Driving licences and similar documents are not accepted.

Admission is granted from the age of 18.

We also want you to feel comfortable with us. You don’t necessarily have to wear your finest evening attire to visit the Casino. Neat casual wear is always welcome.

• Sunday to Thursday: 11 a.m. – 3 a.m.

• Friday, Saturday, and the day before public holidays: 11 a.m. – 4 a.m.

Exception: until midnight on the day before Good Friday

Classic Table Games:

• Sunday to Thursday: 4 p.m. – 2 a.m.*
• Friday, Saturday, and the day before public holidays: 4 p.m. – 3 a.m.*

Exception: until midnight on the day before Good Friday

Non-gaming days:
Good Friday, All Saints’ Day, National Day of Mourning, Sunday of the Dead, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day

Admission Fees:

• Entry: €5

From the 3rd visit onwards, every guest receives the M-Card.
