We would say, entertainment is the easiest word to explain. Everything MERKUR stands for revolves around providing entertainment for our guests and customers. That’s why entertainment is also the top priority in our MERKUR Arcades: We achieve this through the widest possible selection of gaming machines, popular and new amusement games, and, at selected locations, additional leisure activities such as billiards and darts.

The term entertainment machines is often used as a synonym for slot machines in the arcade context. However, our electronic darts machines can also be classified as entertainment machines.

Before you can take a seat at a slot machine in a MERKUR Arcade, a few quick but important steps are required at our entry desks:

• ID check: Using your identity card or passport, we verify your age and compare your details against the OASIS exclusion register.
• Activation card: If everything is in order, you will receive your activation card, which allows you to activate a machine either at the activation terminal or directly at the slot machine.
• Refreshments: Where snacks and/or drinks are permitted at your MERKUR Arcade, we will ask whether you would like to order anything. And there’s no need to wait for your order, as everything will be conveniently brought directly to your seat.

Expanding Wilds are wild symbols that expand to cover the entire reel on which they land. This means they act as a wild symbol in every position on that reel, helping to create the highest possible line success.

Fantasy is another gambling theme that has become an integral part of the MERKUR gaming world. It is one of the reasons why the ZONIC Fantasy Edition was launched, featuring an entire cabinet design along with dedicated game specials.

Features (also called additional or bonus features) bring even more action, excitement and, above all, extra opportunities for success to your game.

You can select an bonus feature on many MERKUR multigamers. Whether a feature is available and which one you can activate is shown on the machine screen and via the feature button displayed in the bottom right-hand corner of the monitor during gameplay.

Put simply, free spins are reel spins that do not require a stake, while still allowing you to collect any successes achieved during them. Free spins are triggered by the scatter symbol. You can see whether a game includes free spins by checking the paytable.

During a free spin feature, so-called Sticky Wilds can remain in the position where they originally landed throughout the entire free spin series. This helps to create recurring success combinations.

In some of our MERKUR Arcades we are allowed to serve different food services. You can enjoy sweet and salty snacks, and even warm fingerfoods. Here are some examples of snacks that may be available in our venues:

• 5-Minute Terrine meals

After 60 minutes of play, the slot machine automatically enters gaming break. During this 5-minute break, the slot machine cannot be played. Once the break has ended, you can continue exactly where you left off.

A gaming machine, in our context, has the exact meaning as a slot machine. This is how we describe our gaming machines who are used for gambling in arcades and casinos.

Game packages contain a specific number of games, usually newly released titles, which are launched once or twice a year either alongside new gaming machines or independently of them. MERKUR’s game packages typically carry the designation V (for Version) followed by the last two digits of the release year, for example V26 for a game package released in 2026.
