Now it's getting wild!

You may already be familiar with wild and scatter symbols from some of our MERKUR games, as they are a source of joy: wilds replace all other game symbols and thus act like a joker in a card game. They therefore contribute to the highest possible line win. However, wilds do not affect scatter symbols.

A scatter is a game symbol that triggers free spins in a certain combination.

There are also two variants of the wild:

Expanding Wilds

Expanding Wilds are Wild symbols that spread across the entire reel on which they appear. This means that they act as Wilds at every position on the reel and contribute to the highest possible line win.

Sticky Wilds

Sticky Wilds remain in place throughout the entire free games series. This way, they create recurring winning combinations.

Symbols

Wild and scatter symbols vary from game to game. You can see which symbols act as wilds or scatters in your current game at the top of the game board during play. Here are a few examples from our MERKUR games:

Willow

In the game Westward , MERKUR Character Willow is a real highlight, as she is both a wild and a scatter symbol:As a wild symbol, she completes the maximum line win in any position.If she appears three, four or five times on the reels, she triggers ten, 15 or 50 free spins as a scatter. At the start of the free spins, a special symbol is selected: if Willow is your special symbol, she transforms into an expanding wild during the free spins.
