Have you ever wondered why MERKUR Arcades look the way they do? Why many of the furnishings appear time and again across different arcades?

The answer is simple: Your comfort is our priority.

Design, interior and décor

The moment you enter a MERKUR Arcade, you immediately sense the unique atmosphere that defines the space. This distinctive ambience is one of MERKUR’s hallmarks – and it’s rooted in tradition. Even the very first arcade in Delmenhorst, which opened in 1974, was designed with inspiration from four-star hotels.

Carpets

You’ll notice it as soon as you enter the arcade: the carpet. High-quality materials are always a priority here to ensure the flooring is as durable as possible.

Wall design

So you’re not just staring at a plain white wall while you're in the arcade, MERKUR uses colour to create a unique experience. The paints used are high-quality and often applied as effect glazes to add touches like golden reflections to the walls. This enhances the premium feel of the space and makes your stay even more enjoyable.

Ceilings

What’s happening above your head also plays a part in the overall experience. Depending on the interior concept, you’ll find a variety of ceiling elements in different shapes and colours. Circles, ovals, cubes or mirrors – they all contribute to the unique atmosphere.

Lighting

Lighting is a central design element in MERKUR Arcades. Light has the power to significantly influence the mood of a room – and here, it’s used to help you stay focused on your game.

We use low lighting around the machines to avoid distraction or glare. Since the machines themselves feature plenty of lights, the surrounding lighting is deliberately dimmed.
