When the darts were flying
On 7 February 2025, the time had come: 20 lucky winners gathered at the MERKUR Arcade in Cologne to meet their idol Florian Hempel.
MERKUR CASINO had invited the 53rd in the Order of Merrit to give darts fans an unforgettable experience. Florian shared insights from the life of a dart professional, offered individual tips to improve technique, and of course was ready to play some games too.
“I mainly want us all to have fun here,” said the 34-year-old at the start of the event – and that’s exactly what everyone had. From 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., darts flew across three e-dart machines and one steel dart machine.
At the end of the evening, Florian was also available for photos and autographs.

1/8 Florian Hempel took plenty of time to answer the many questions from the participants.
2/8 From head to toe, the throw has to be right. The stance, arm position, and hand movement must be perfectly coordinated.
3/8 The participants listened intently to what the pro had to say.
4/8 No hesitation: Florian was always available for questions and suggestions.
5/8 Non-alcoholic cocktails, Red Bull, and everything the casino bar had to offer were available for the participants to choose from. In addition, a buffet was provided.
6/8 After the theory came the practice: the participants had plenty of time at the oche.
7/8 All participants had a great time and thanked Florian with a round of applause.
8/8 Florian signed everything the fans handed him.
