All predictions for Bundesliga Matchday 10 of the 2025/26 season. From HSV vs Dortmund to Gladbach vs Köln. Current form, statistics and tips at a glance.
Matchday 10 of the Bundesliga is upon us, and excitement is guaranteed. League leaders Bayern Munich are looking to extend their perfect record away at Union Berlin, while RB Leipzig face a test in Hoffenheim after their own record-breaking start to the season. Behind them, VfB Stuttgart hope to make amends in their home fixture against Augsburg. At the bottom of the table, things are getting tense: Mainz are fighting for survival in their derby at Eintracht Frankfurt, as are St. Pauli in Freiburg. Meanwhile, the traditional Rhine derby between Gladbach and Köln promises plenty of drama both on and off the pitch.
Werder Bremen are unbeaten in four games and have shown much-improved defensive stability compared to the start of the season. Their 1–1 draw in Mainz showed great spirit, earning another late point. Wolfsburg, on the other hand, remain in deep crisis, losing 2–3 to Hoffenheim last time out and now having lost seven of their last eight competitive matches. Shaky at the back and harmless up front – the form clearly favours Bremen.
Tip: Home win (1)
Bayer Leverkusen suffered their first defeat in five Bundesliga games with a 0–3 loss in Munich. Against the record champions, Hjulmand’s side were far too harmless, registering an xGoals value of just 0.12. Heidenheim managed a 1–1 draw against Frankfurt but have now gone five league games without a win and sit bottom of the table once again. That won’t be enough against Bayer.
Tip: Home win (1) + over 3.5 goals
Union Berlin remained goalless again in their 0–0 draw with Freiburg but showed solid defensive organisation. Bayern, meanwhile, continue to march on. Their 3–0 win over Leverkusen was their ninth in nine league matches – even with heavy rotation, the record champions looked unstoppable. Union will defend passionately, but right now, no one seems capable of stopping this Bayern side.
Tip: Away win (2) + over 3.5 goals
Hoffenheim’s 3–2 win in Wolfsburg marked their third victory in a row, lifting them up to sixth. Ilzer’s side are playing vibrant attacking football, with Burger and Prömel in fine form. RB Leipzig are equally strong – their 3–1 victory over Stuttgart was another convincing display and set a new club record: 22 points from nine matches. Leipzig’s attack is currently almost unstoppable.
Tip: Draw
HSV suffered a 1–4 defeat in Köln despite showing good phases and are still waiting for their first away win. Two late red cards ended any hope. Borussia Dortmund, however, are on a winning streak. Their 1–0 victory in Augsburg was their fourth consecutive win in all competitions – not pretty, but effective. HSV will play bravely at home, but Dortmund’s quality should prevail.
Tip: Away win (2)
Borussia Mönchengladbach finally secured their first win of the season with an emphatic 4–0 victory at St. Pauli, marking an impressive comeback. Double goalscorer Tabakovic led the Foals to a crucial result that lifted spirits after weeks of crisis. Köln travel full of confidence after a 4–1 win over HSV – an important result after two straight defeats. Both sides enter the derby with momentum, and emotions are sure to run high.
Tip: Draw
SC Freiburg were held to a goalless draw in Berlin and remain mid-table. Back home, they’ll be eager to take all three points, with Grifo and Höler expected to spark the attack. St. Pauli are in deep trouble – the 0–4 defeat to Gladbach was their sixth consecutive loss. Blessin’s side keep making costly individual mistakes, especially in defence, while their attack is toothless.
Tip: Home win (1)
Stuttgart lost 1–3 in Leipzig, a match that showed their lack of efficiency. The Swabians play attractive football, create chances but fail to convert, while defensive lapses keep costing them points. Augsburg are in turmoil – their 0–1 defeat to Dortmund was their sixth of the season. Fan frustration is growing, with open protests against the team and coach Wagner.
Tip: Home win (1)
Eintracht Frankfurt drew 1–1 in Heidenheim and once again dropped valuable points. Toppmöller’s side dominated possession but lacked cutting edge. Mainz 05 are still waiting for their second win of the season; their 1–1 draw with Bremen wasn’t enough. Frankfurt should take advantage of the visitors’ insecurity and win convincingly.
Tip: Home win (1) + over 3.5 goals
In this clash, two teams are moving in opposite directions. Bremen are enjoying a solid season, sitting ninth with 12 points and unbeaten in four. Their 1–1 draw in Mainz showed great resilience, with Stage scoring late to secure a point. The only concern remains their conversion rate.
Wolfsburg’s situation is very different: after a 2–3 defeat to Hoffenheim and a DFB Cup exit against second-tier Holstein Kiel (0–1), the pressure is mounting. With only eight points from nine games, the Wolves are dangerously close to the relegation zone. Defensively fragile and offensively uninspired – even bright spots like Amoura or Daghim can’t hide the problems. Bremen have momentum, while Wolfsburg are under pressure. Another loss could plunge them deep into crisis.
Forecast: Home win at the Weser! Bremen are more cohesive, hard-working and confident – the trend clearly points to Werder.
Attack meets efficiency: two of the league’s most in-form sides face off in Sinsheim. Hoffenheim’s 3–2 win in Wolfsburg was their third consecutive victory, lifting them to sixth. Coach Christian Ilzer has restored confidence and structure to his team. Up front, Kramaric and Burger are a constant threat, while Grischa Prömel’s return to the midfield has been key.
But RB Leipzig will be a serious test. The Saxons sit second after their 3–1 win against Stuttgart – their best-ever Bundesliga start, with 22 points from nine games. Under Ole Werner, Leipzig play at high tempo with creativity and flair. Their front line of Romulo, Diomande and Nusa is lethal, and with six different scorers in their 6–0 win at Augsburg, the numbers speak for themselves. Defensively solid, Leipzig are one of the most complete teams in the league.
Forecast: Both teams are in top form, playing brave, attacking football. Leipzig may have more individual class, but Hoffenheim are too solid at home to be beaten. A well-deserved draw seems likely.
The promoted side want to challenge the favourites: after a 1–4 defeat in Köln, HSV find themselves in a mini-crisis. Two red cards cost them dearly. Coach Merlin Polzin called for more discipline and intelligence during the week but also courage in attack – with players like Dompé, Königsdörffer and Fabio Vieira, HSV have the quality to trouble even top teams. The Volksparkstadion crowd will hope for a reaction.
Dortmund’s mood, in contrast, is buoyant. The BVB have won four competitive games in a row and kept a clean sheet against Augsburg. With 20 points, they sit comfortably in third. Under Niko Kovac, the team look more stable and mentally strong. Matches they might once have thrown away, they now win with maturity and composure. Guirassy has rediscovered his scoring touch, while Schlotterbeck and Kobel are providing defensive stability.
Forecast: HSV will fight passionately and press high, but Dortmund’s quality, composure and depth should make the difference. A narrow but deserved BVB victory is on the cards.
